Leadership in a flash, leadership tip app for iphone and blackberryGood leaders ROUND on their employees.

How:

Good Leaders round (think “management by walking around”) to connect with their employees. Daily rounding should be a part of every leader’s schedule. Rounding is more than making an appearance — it involves talking with employees about what is going well and what is not; it is about soliciting their input and having one to one time to grow your relationship, while supporting their development and “ownership” of their work.

Practice:

  1. Schedule time on your calendar every day that you are in the office to round on employees in the departments you manage.
  2. Make sure you follow up with them and close the loop if there is an open discussion item, concern or request.

You can find 56 leadership tips like this in the Leadership In A Flash smartphone app for iPhone and Blackberry at the app stores for just $4.99. As one of the first coaching related apps in the world, Debbie Frame shares solid insights and activities that support the development of leadership skills at every level of the organization.
